Anatomy tool

Defining roles and responsibilities of people delivering services.
At what stage of the design process is the tool most useful?
What does it do?

The anatomy tool helps the co-design team think about the attributes, roles and responsibilities of the people delivering the service.

How do you use it?

Encourage the group to consider all of the people who deliver the service. (There are likely to be different groups of people).

For each group of people who deliver the service, encourage the co-design team to pick four key attributes and describe a situation where they might need them.

Useful resources when using the tool

In Pilotlight we used this tool to co-design SDS peer worker and reablement worker roles. It has been suggested that this tool could be used to support personal assistant job design and recruitment.
